Frequency of Treatment
For Sculptra injections, every 4-6 weeks; 2-4 treatments are recommended for best results.
For microneedling with Sculptra, every 4-6 weeks; 3-4 treatments are recommended for best results.
Schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event. Redness, swelling, and bruising may occur for 2 weeks post-treatment.
Avoid the use of any blood-thinning medications or supplements, including: NSAIDs, aspirin, Ginkgo Biloba, Garlic Supplements, Ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Flax Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E and essential fatty acids 3-7 days pre and post treatment injections to minimize bruising or bleeding. Always consult with your physician prior to discontinuing any medications.
Do not drink alcoholic beverages 24 hours before your treatment to avoid extra bruising.
Arnica supplements may be taken 2-3 days prior to treatment and may help to minimize bruising.
Let our providers know if you have a history of cold sores. An antiviral may be used.
You may not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
Massage the treated area(s) 5 times a day for about 5 minutes for 5 days after treatment.
Redness, sensitivity and possible bruising may be present in the treated area(s) and last up to 14 days.
If swelling occurs, apply a cold compress for 15 minutes, 3 times a day.
Tylenol may be taken for any soreness or discomfort. Arnica tablets may also be taken to stimulate your body’s natural healing process.
Do NOT get a facial or massage for 2 weeks post-treatment.
Do not perform activities involving straining, heavy lifting or vigorous exercise for 24 hours after treatment. Normal daily activities can be resumed immediately after.
Sleep faceup and head slightly elevated to further decrease swelling.
A few days after treatment, you will look as you did before your treatment. This is normal. Over time, Sculptra will replace lost collagen.
