Frequency of Treatment
For melasma and scarring, every 4-6 weeks; 4-6 treatments are recommended for best results.
For age management, every 12 weeks; 4-6 treatments are recommended for best results.
Pre-Treatment Instructions
Timing is everything. Schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks before any big event. Redness, swelling and peeling may also be apparent during this time.
Let our providers know if you have a history of cold sores. An antiviral may be used.
Avoid extensive sun exposure, especially 10 days prior to treatment.
Avoidance of any facial waxing for 7 days prior to treatment is required.
Discontinue topical retinoids and active ingredients 24 hours before treatment to reduce sensitivity.
If you have a special event or vacation coming up, please keep in mind that you should schedule your treatment at least 2 weeks in advance.
Avoid the use of any blood-thinning medications or supplements, including: NSAIDs, aspirin, Ginkgo Biloba, Garlic Supplements, Ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Flax Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E and essential fatty acids 3-7 days pre and post treatment injections to minimize bruising or bleeding. Always consult with your physician prior to discontinuing any medications.
If pregnant, you must receive clearance from OB/GYN prior to treatment.
Post Care Instructions
First things first–as soon as you get home, change your pillowcase! No, really! This will ensure you sleep on a clean surface, and will stop harmful bacteria from entering your open channels.
Redness, sensitivity and mild facial swelling might be present (and last for a few days). This is normal and will appear similar to a moderate sunburn.
Use Tylenol as needed for any soreness.
Peeling and flaking may start 3-5 days after the treatment. Do not pick or scratch at treated skin.
Avoid strenuous exercise or sweating for 24 hours.
Avoid tanning or prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Apply a broad spectrum spf 30+ and reapply every 2 hours.
For best results, use the post procedure products provided by santāl skin.

santāl skin adheres to a 24-hour Cancellation / No-Show policy to respect our providers’ time. A credit card on file is required to reserve all appointments. Failure to show and appointments canceled less than 24-hours prior to your appointment will be charged 50% of your booked laser service(s) and all other treatments will forfeit the $50 booking deposit. We kindly ask that you reschedule or cancel at least 24-hours in advance. By scheduling an appointment, you are agreeing to our cancellation/no-show policy.
