Frequency of Treatment
3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart, with maintenance treatments every 4-6 months (2-3x per year) or as needed.
Pre-Treatment Instructions
Timing is everything. Schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks before any big event.
Avoid sun exposure 2 weeks prior to treatment.
Discontinue photosensitizing medications two weeks prior to treatment.
Let our providers know if you have a history of cold sores. An antiviral may be used.
Discontinue any products containing active ingredients, including: benzoyl peroxide, retinol, tretinoin, AHAs/BHAs (e.g. glycolic or salicylic Acid for 5 days prior to treatment.
The skin should not be irritated or peeling (such as may occur with topical retinoids, exfoliants, and other skin treatments) and should not have any active areas of infection (herpes/cold sores, bacterial, or other infections) prior to treatment.
We require clearance from your OB-GYN prior to treatment if pregnant or breastfeeding.
Post Care Instructions
Skin may feel warm for 1-2 hours and up to 24 hours post-treatment. A cold compress can be used for comfort.
Redness is common immediately following treatment and typically subsides within 24-48 hours.
Avoid wearing makeup for 24 hours.
Avoid strenuous exercise and sweating for 24 hours.
Use a gentle cleanser and mild skincare products while skin heals. Do not use chemical or physical exfoliants, retinols or acids for 10 days post-treatment.
MENDs (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris) will appear on the 2nd or 3rd day after treatment as tiny dark spots to the treated skin. Skin will be very dry and feel like sandpaper. Keep your body and skin hydrated to support the healing process.
Do not pick or scratch at treated skin as scarring and pigmentation complications can occur.
Tylenol may be taken for any post-treatment discomfort.
Avoid sun tanning and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for 2 weeks post-treatment.
If exposed to the sun, always use broad spectrum SPF 30+ and reapply every 2 hours.

Cancellation Policy
santāl skin adheres to a 24-hour Cancellation / No-Show policy to respect our providers’ time. A credit card on file is required to reserve all appointments. Failure to show and appointments canceled less than 24-hours prior to your appointment will be charged 50% of your booked laser service(s) and all other treatments will forfeit the $50 booking deposit. We kindly ask that you reschedule or cancel at least 24-hours in advance. By scheduling an appointment, you are agreeing to our cancellation/no-show policy.
