Every 12 weeks; 1-4 treatments are recommended for best results.
Pre-Treatment Instructions
Timing is everything. Schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks before any big event. Botox and Dysport are not instant gratification–effects can take up to 14 days for full results. Redness, swelling and bruising may also be apparent during this time.
Avoid the use of any blood-thinning medications or supplements, including: NSAIDs, aspirin, Ginkgo Biloba, Garlic Supplements, Ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Flax Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E and essential fatty acids 3-7 days pre and post treatment injections to minimize bruising or bleeding. Always consult with your physician prior to discontinuing any medications.
Do not drink alcoholic beverages 24 hours before your treatment to avoid extra bruising.
Arnica supplements may be taken 2-3 days prior and may help minimize bruising.
Let our providers know if you have a history of cold sores. An antiviral may be used.
You may not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
Post Care Instructions
Redness and/or sensitivity may be present and last up to a few hours after treatment. Use Tylenol for any soreness.
Swelling may last 1-2 weeks after your injections. Expect to return to “baseline” after 4 weeks.
Kybella will continue to work and can take approximately 12 weeks for results to be seen. If the desired result is not seen after 12 weeks of your treatment, you may need additional vials.
Sleep face up and head slightly elevated to further decrease swelling.
Do NOT touch, press, rub, massage or manipulate the treatment area.
Ice the treated area(s) for 15 minutes every hour for the first 24 hours after treatment.
Apply Arnica gel to the treatment area to help decrease bruising, swelling and any discomfort.
Avoid heavy lifting, vigorous exercise, sun or heat exposure for 3-5 days following your treatment.
Avoid aesthetic treatments such as injectables, lasers, peels, facials or similar to the Kybella treatment area.
You may follow your normal skincare routine tonight using gentle cleanser and light washing.
Common side effects after Kybella include burning sensation following injections, significant swelling, bruising, numbness, and discomfort in the treatment area.
Numbness may also last weeks after injections. Please notify us if you develop trouble swallowing.
If multiple treatments are necessary, we can schedule your next Kybella treatment 6 weeks after the first.

santāl skin adheres to a 24-hour Cancellation / No-Show policy to respect our providers’ time. A credit card on file is required to reserve all appointments. Failure to show and appointments canceled less than 24-hours prior to your appointment will be charged 50% of your booked laser service(s) and all other treatments will forfeit the $50 booking deposit. We kindly ask that you reschedule or cancel at least 24-hours in advance. By scheduling an appointment, you are agreeing to our cancellation/no-show policy.
