Frequency of Treatment
Every 4–6 weeks; 4–6 treatments are recommended for best results.
Timing is everything. Schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks before any big event. Redness, swelling and peeling may also be apparent during this time.
Let our providers know if you have a history of cold sores. An antiviral may be used.
Avoid extensive sun exposure, especially 10 days prior to treatment.
Avoidance of any facial waxing for 7 days prior to treatment is required.
Discontinue topical retinoids and active ingredients one week before treatment to reduce sensitivity.
After your peel, redness or sensitivity might be present and last up to a few days.
Peeling may start 1-3 days after treatment. Do not pick or scratch at treated skin. Allow the skin to flake off naturally.
Avoid strenuous exercise or sweating for 24 hours.
Avoid tanning or prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Apply a broad spectrum spf 30+ and reapply every 2 hours.
You may develop small whiteheads, but please note that this IS NOT A BREAKOUT.
For best results, use the post procedure products provided by santāl skin for 3-5 days after or until flaking has stopped.
You may resume your normal skin care routine and exfoliants (retinol, AHAs, salicylic acid) in 5-7 days or once skin is no longer peeling.
